Airtel Money Africa expands partnership with pawaPay for cross-border payments
Airtel Money Africa has extended its partnership with one of Africa’ s largest mobile money payment service providers, pawaPay, to enable seamless cross-border
payments for licensed International Money Transfer Operators( IMTOs) across seven key Airtel Africa markets.
The collaboration launches pawaPay’ s inbound remittance service into Uganda, Rwanda, Zambia, Malawi, Gabon, Congo Brazzaville and Tanzania. IMTOs can now deliver funds directly to Airtel Money wallets – reaching more than 161 million customers – using pawaPay’ s payment infrastructure, which offers 99.9 % uptime and processes over four million transactions daily.
Building on five years of collaboration in domestic mobile money, the partnership will simplify Airtel Money Africa’ s back-end processes while strengthening reliability and scalability.

Payroc to acquire BlueSnap in strategic global payments expansion
Payroc WorldAccess has signed a definitive agreement to acquire BlueSnap, a Boston-based global payment orchestration and accounts receivable( AR) automation platform. The transaction, expected to close in Q3 2025 subject to regulatory approval, will combine Payroc’ s direct-connect acquiring infrastructure in the US, Canada and Puerto Rico with BlueSnap’ s enterprise-scale capabilities.
The deal will enable merchants, independent software vendors( ISVs) and embedded technology partners to accept cardnot-present, electronic cheque and alternative payments in 47 countries, more than 100 currencies and over 36 local methods through a single API. BlueSnap’ s intelligent routing and fraud prevention tools aim to improve authorisation rates and reduce cross-border costs.
Additional features include embedded invoicing, subscription billing and automated reconciliation, supported by real-time dashboards and out-of-the-box workflows designed to speed receivables and simplify collections. and the breadth of capabilities we can bring to our customers and partners.
